Deco Lighting Illuminates Bonelli Park with Induction Lighting and Saves L.A. County 50% in Energy Costs

Deco Lighting replaced inefficient HID lighting with their new Induction technology luminaires at Bonelli Park, providing the County of Los Angeles with 50% savings in utility energy costs and superior illumination.

The spectacular and scenic Bonelli Park in San Dimas, California, located
30 miles east of Los Angeles needed new lighting. The 2,000 acre park offers
visitors year-round recreational activities, including hiking, bicycling, swimming,
horseback riding, boating and camping. Strategic roadways and parking areas
throughout the park used antiquated and unattractive cobrahead streetlighting
fixtures with inefficient 400 watt metal halide lamps.
Deco Lighting provided a lighting solution that gives Bonelli Park and The County
of Los Angeles a combination of immediate energy savings, long term maintenance
cost savings, and visually aesthetic benefits. 243 existing 400 watt cobrahead fixtures
were replaced with Deco Lighting Python D8622i luminaires with 200 watt Induction
lamps. Similar light levels were achieved using half the wattage and saving an
estimated 50% on utility energy costs. With 100,000 hour life, the Induction lamps
save substantial relamp and maintenance costs versus the metal halide fixtures
that required lamp replacement after less than 20,000 hours. Projected annual kWh
energy and maintenance savings for The County of Los Angeles are $275,179.
Finished in dark bronze, the Deco luminaires and poles blend beautifully and
harmoniously into Bonelli Park's landscape and mountain scenery. Park visitors
and staff benefit from the new Deco Induction lighting by providing reliable,
instant-on performance with no warm-up delays, superior color rendering, better
visibility and enhanced safety.
Deco Lighting offers the largest selection of Induction lamp indoor and outdoor
fixtures available. Deco Induction luminaires provide 100,000 hour life for substantial
long term maintenance savings with 3 to 10 times the service life versus HID lamps.
High 85+ lumens per watt and high efficiency performance allow Induction
luminaires to provide similar light levels with half the wattage of HID and the
benefit of 50% or more in utility cost savings. Deco Induction luminaires feature
instant on, no restrike, cold weather performance down to -40°C/F, electrode-less
lamps for vibration resistance, superior lamp lumen depreciation with 80% lumens
at 60,000 hours, excellent 90 CRI color, and 10 year warranty.
The Deco Lighting Python D8622i luminaire features a streamlined, aerodynamic
shape and high efficiency reflector design for optimum performance from Induction
technology lamps. Available in wattages from 40 through 200 watts, and a choice
of color temperatures. The precision die-cast aluminum housing opens with a
unique hinge & latch mechanism for convenient wiring and maintenance. Optical
assembly and electrical compartment are fully gasketed to seal out contaminants.
Heavy-duty, adjustable twin bolt mounting for standard pole arms. The polyester
powder coat finish provides exceptional durability, weather and corrosion resistance.
