Dental Offices Now Able To Use I-Pad In Paperless Office
Dental offices that are trying to go paperless need to have a way to have patients complete their forms electronically. It is now possible to use an iPad for this.
Online, March 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - A goal of many dental offices recently has been to go paperless and have electronic health records. However, there are many obstacles to overcome when trying to do this. For most dental offices, the main issue is determining how patients can electronically complete his/her forms in the office.
The most efficient way to have patients complete their information, such as registration and health history, is to have them do so online. Not only is this beneficially to the patients because they will not be rushed and be in the comfort of their homes, but it is also beneficial to the office because it will save the staff a lot of time getting the patients record ready before the appointment.
However, obviously not 100 percent of the patients are going to complete their forms online. To still be paperless an office will have to find a way to have patients complete their forms electronically in the office. A computer kiosk is nice for this, but many offices simply do not have the room for a computer kiosk in the waiting area.
It is now possible for an office to use an iPad for patients to complete their information in the waiting area of the office. When a patient arrives for his appointment, a staff member can open up a program called DentForms on an iPad. The patient can then sit down in the waiting area and complete his forms electronically on the iPad using the DentForms program. When complete, the patient can then electronically sign the forms using a digital signature pad at the front office or in the operatory.
The use of an iPad and DentForms is a great way for dental offices to become paperless. It will make the office more efficient and impress the patients.
