The Laredo, Limited and Overland all include a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates 290 horsepower. There is an option to upgrade to a 360-hp 5.7-liter V8 Hemi engine. The SRT8 has the most powerful performance with an 465-hp 6.4-liter V8 Hemi engine, and a five-speed automatic transmission with wheel mounted paddle shifters. The V8 engines feature Fuel Saver Technology which deactivates four cylinders when they are unnecessary.

The settings include Off -Road 2, Off- Road 1, Normal, Aero Mode, and Park Mode. The Selec-Terrain System offers most favorable on and off-road traction with 12 different settings. Such settings include auto, sand/mud, snow, sport, and rock. The Quadra-Trac 4WD system uses sensors to gain traction before sliding occurs.
