Denver Hosting Company, PeakColo, Obtains SAS-70 Certification
Online, March 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Denver, Colorado - Denver hosting and colocation provider, PeakColo, announced their recent completion of the SAS-70 Type I certification with Type II scheduled for completion in September of this year. The Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 is widely recognized across industries as it represents that a service provider has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and activities including controls over information technology. PeakColo successfully demonstrated that they have better-than-adequate controls and safeguards in place for hosted customer data, transaction processing and their IT infrastructure in general.
"It's vital that customers trust PeakColo's ability to keep their systems running and protect their sensitive data," says Luke Norris, PeakColo President. "Completing the SAS-70 Type II audit will provide even greater assurances to our customers."
The SAS-70 audit provides customers with assurance that claims of redundant systems for power, network connectivity, fire suppression and security are accurate. The SAS-70 audit also ensures that documentation of procedures for preventative maintenance are both adequate and in place. The audit team examined the complete PeakColo infrastructure including building security, operating environment, computer operations, data security, and communications. Obtaining the SAS-70 certification shows that PeakColo has the right controls in place for infrastructure and data security to meet both the standards of the industry and the protection requirements of customers.
