Derycz Scientific Subsidiary Signs Sales Representative Agreement with Copyright Clearance Center
Combined Solution Helps Research-Intensive Companies Manage Rights to Content for Rights Management Tool "Rightsphere"
Online, June 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SANTA MONICA, CA - June 29, 2010 -- Derycz Scientific, Inc. (DYSC.OB), a company that is pioneering a fresh way of facilitating the flow of information from content publishers to enterprise customers and their constituents, today announced that its subsidiary Reprints Desk, a provider of easy and effective scientific literature licensing and re-use for life sciences customers, has entered into a sales representative agreement with Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), a not-for-profit organization that is the world's leading provider of copyright licensing solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Reprints Desk will serve as an authorized sales representative for Rightsphere, the only CCC-validated rights management tool for accessing current and complete CCC license data and re-use permissions.
Joint Reprints Desk-CCC customers will be provided with additional customization and workflow integration options, saving them money and simplifying copyright compliance with respect to their re-use of licensed content. The agreement also helps simplify compliance for customers' knowledge workers by integrating robust rights management capabilities into information retrieval workflows.
"In an effort to better serve our customers' needs, CCC has chosen to expand our relationship with Reprints Desk by making them an authorized sales representative," said CCC VP for licensing and business development Miles McNamee. "We see this as a bold step forward for both companies in our relationship as we continue to grow globally and meet the content sharing needs of customers."
"Integrating CCC-validated rights management information into hundreds of thousands of annual article deliveries will enable workers to more easily share content in copyright-compliant ways," said Peter Derycz, CEO of Reprints Desk. "Reprints Desk customers will gain the assurance that their access and use of articles is in full compliance with copyright law."
