Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) to Host International Design This Month

Major Designers & Industry Insiders will Share the Latest Luxury Products & International Trends with Design Professionals and Enthusiasts - July 16, 23 & 30

DCOTA (http://www.dcota.com), today announced that the Design Center of the Americas would be hosting International Design @ DCOTA on three sequential Thursdays in July.

Professional designers and design enthusiasts are invited to learn from leading designers and key industry insiders during special showroom presentations, panel discussions, open houses and receptions on July 16th, 23rd and 30th. There is no cost to attend.

Thursday, July 16th

Opening Keynote
Hot Trends in Outdoor Shading:  9-10 a.m. in Atrium A
With a special introduction by Steve Stolow, founder of Total Window, Paul Rushfield, USA Consultant for Exterior Shading Solutions, will shed
some light on the latest trends in outdoor shading as well as demonstrated new products now available at Total Window.

Outdoor Design in South Florida:  11 a.m. to noon in Atrium A
Enjoy a vivid panel discussion with outdoor design experts Keith Williams, Principal at Nievera Williams Designs, ASLA; Drew Duncan, Southeast Regional Sales Manager from Dedon opening soon at DCOTA; and other industry professionals as they highlight the latest trends and functionalities of outdoor design in South Florida. Lunch reception to follow.

Bring the Outdoors In with Thibaut’s Portico Collection
It’s summertime and the living may be easy, but it’s also HOT! Dive into Portico, Thibaut's new indoor/outdoor collection of coordinating Sunbrella fabrics. Presenters will be Thibaut's Florida Senior Sales Representative Michael Sprauer, Thibaut's Woven Designer Patricia Hoffman and Jennifer Hendren, Vice President of Design from Sunbury, the mill that produces Sunbrella fabrics. Attendees will have the chance to catch a sneak peek at new pattern designs and learn about the process of developing wovens for Thibaut. Refreshments and desserts will be served following the presentation, along with raffles and gifts, but seating is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.

Join JANUS et Cie for this summer’s fresh looks in outdoor furnishings, accessories and textiles, with a spotlight on outdoor entertaining and the 2015 collections.

Jeffrey Michaels will be featuring all of its exciting indoor and outdoor lines from Chella, Link Outdoor, Jab and Stroheim throughout the day.

Michael Taylor Designs, Suite C-354 (2-3 p.m.)
Taylor is thrilled to announce collaborations with designers Suzanne Tucker and Abe Jerome Tucker’s California Collection, outdoor textile line, fuses casual design with timeless elegance. Jerome’s sleek and contemporary outdoor furniture, inspired by historical European designs, adds interest and character to any outdoor space. Duralee will be showcasing the latest in indoor-outdoor fabric.

PINDLER, Suite C-230
Pindler will be highlighting new additions to the exclusive Indoor/Outdoor Weatherscape Collection, including new ethnic and geometric patterns, colors and textures. The Weatherscape Collection
is a grouping of modern and transitional patterns that are in very usable small to midsize scale, along with coordinating textures and plains. This collection is woven with UV resistant 100% solution dyed polyester that is easy to clean and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. This Collection is very well priced and each pattern meets up to 100,000 double rubs. Refreshments will be served.

Design Influence on South Florida’s Hospitality Business: 11 a.m. to noon in Atrium A

Join Drew Limsky, Editor in Chief of Modern Luxury Interiors, as he moderates an informative panel discussion on international influences on South Florida, with a focus on hospitality. He’ll be joined by Adriana Hoyos and other industry professionals as they divulge their influences on hospitality projects and highlight notable trends in the market. Panel Discussion

Kitchen Trends in Today’s Market, 11 a.m. to noon in Atrium A

Join revered designers Brett Sugerman and Giselle Loor, CEOs of b + g design; Susan Rindley, Global Estate Agent for Sotheby’s International Realty; and Anya Cesar, Design Sales Manager of Cosentino Center-Fort Lauderdale, as they discuss the recent trends in kitchen design, functionality and the most sought
after looks on the market today. Following the panel discussion, join the prestigious Brazilian manufacturer Florense for a reception as they unveil new kitchen displays showcasing the latest finishes.
