Desire Obtain Cherish, one of the most provocative new stars of the contemporary street art scene, will debut his first solo exhibition show on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 at LAB ART Los Angeles, the nation's largest gallery dedicated to street art.

As a Parsons trained artist, the former creative director has transitioned from award-winning advertising campaigns and designs to notoriety for his sharp-witted and graphic content in both the streets and in art galleries.

DOC is known for his reappropriation of both classic images in art history as well as iconic images in street art, turning them into tongue-in-cheek, dynamic metaphors about global consumerism and corporate advertising.

DOC's most notable works of art include his billboard takeovers in Los Angeles- one of which features the slogan "First the sex tape, then rehab, then the reality show,
Sweetheart," showing two models sharing a glass of Stella Artois beer.

In DOC's first solo exhibition, LAB ART will proudly spotlight approximately 30 of his most impressive pieces of art in the front gallery space. DOC will be in attendance at the private opening reception on Thursday, August 18th at LAB ART Los Angeles gallery. The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday, August 19th, 2011.

The show continues through September 14th, 2011.
