This is the first year of the Destin 50 Beach Ultra. It was conceived by a member of the local military community as a chance to bring an ultra running event to the area and raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Race organizers expect 125+ participants in the inaugural year including nearly 50 people running the entire 50 mile course.

The public is welcome to view the race and cheer on the participants anywhere along the course. TOPS'L Resort, The Dunes of Seagrove, and The Back Porch will serve as aid stations.
