Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership Announces Partnership with Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership announces a partnership with the Ford's Theatre Society in Washington, D.C., site of the April 14, 1865 assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership announced today that it has formed a partnership with the Ford's Theatre Society in Washington, D.C. The site of the April 14, 1865, assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, Ford's Theatre includes a museum and theater dedicated to preserving the legacy of President Lincoln.

Diamond6 will work with the Ford's Theatre Society to develop leadership seminars and other similar programs for the Society's new Center for Education and Leadership, scheduled to open in February 2012 across the street from Ford's Theatre.

"Abraham Lincoln's life and legacy holds a unique place in United States history," said Jeff McCausland, CEO and founder of Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership. "The faculty and staff of the Ford Theatre Society have extensive expertise interpreting history through theatrical performances that complement the insights we offer through our leadership seminars."

The Ford's Theatre mission is to celebrate the legacy of Abraham Lincoln and to explore the American experience through theatre and education. Ford's Theatre Society works to present the Theatre's nearly one million visitors each year with a truly memorable historic and cultural experience, transforming this vibrant historic site into an important tool for promoting the ideals of leadership, humanity and wisdom espoused by Abraham Lincoln.

"We're excited by this partnership with Diamond6 Strategy and Leadership," said Sarah Jencks, Director of Education Programming for Ford's Theatre Society. "As we prepare to open the Center for Education and Leadership, our programming focus expands to include examining Lincoln's leadership principles and his multi-faceted legacy through exhibits, workshops, seminars and speakers, as well as community outreach programs. Collaborating with Diamond6 to develop programming will broaden our reach and invite new audiences to explore and learn from Lincoln's life and presidency."

"When one considers the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, 'leadership' and 'service' are attributes that immediately come to mind," McCausland said. "Through our partnership with Ford's Theatre, we will offer business groups, educators, young 'emerging leaders' and leaders from across the nation the opportunity to carefully examine how Abraham Lincoln led his divided cabinet and the divided country during one of the most difficult periods in our nation's history."

In addition to hosting leadership seminars at Ford's Theatre, Diamond6 also uses other Washington, D.C. area venues, including the Civil War battlefields of Bull Run and Antietam, to offer additional lessons on how to lead large organizations during a crisis. In late October, Diamond6 and The Center for Strategic International Studies will host the inaugural Superintendents Leadership Retreat, which will feature visits to Ford's Theatre as well as the battlefield of Bull Run.
