Digital Comic Strip About Eclectic Group Of Techies Finds Global Audience Thanks To Free I-Phone App

Laugh-out-loud tech cartoons about computers, the internet, smart phones, mp3 players, gaming devices, e-book readers, social networks and other emerging technologies, now available in a Free iPhone App.

One of the oldest and most popular forms of expression meets emerging technology as a Pittsburgh-based cartoonist introduces a new app for iPhones and iPads that enables users worldwide to enjoy his increasingly popular online comic strip and the virtual world that has grown up around it.

Francis Cleetus, the cartoonist, created his comic strip "It's Geek to Me," to capture the funny and unpredictable stories of the hundreds of "techies" he has known, befriended or worked with in various parts of the world.

While the comic strip resides at www.geek-2-me.com, the 13 diverse characters with a distinctively whimsical sense of humor who work at fictional company Paradox Software have taken on added dimension through over 125 cartoon-based products available at an online store. The comic strip now has over 1,400 fans from around the globe on facebook and a similar following on Twitter and BlogSpot.

"Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work in India, Hong Kong and the United States, working with some of the brightest, funniest people you'll ever know," said Francis. "These real people in my life inspired the characters that breathe life into the comic strip. It's my attempt to pay homage to them and their spirit for living."

Thanks to the new free app created by Francis, curious comic strip fanatics can easily give "It's Geek to Me" a try simply by checking it out at the iTunes Store and downloading it onto their iPhone, iPod or iPad. It's that simple.

"Fans of the strip have said it's a laugh-out-loud tech cartoon about the daily lives of a digital generation," said Francis. "These are characters whose relationships with each other and their computers, the Internet, smart phones and gaming devices form the foundation for some very funny situations."

Francis Cleetus started fiddling with computers at an early age. Years later, he started writing about them as a staff reporter for Dataquest magazine. Along the way, he switched to writing ads for ad agencies like Draft-FCB, J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy, D'Arcy and Doe Anderson in India, Hong Kong and the United States. He also admits that in more than a few long and pointless meetings, he doodled on the side.

Francis lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and two daughters and works out of his home studio. He has created hundreds of cartoons for various publications and geek-2-me.com. He has also created award-winning ads for Nike apparel, Crest toothpaste, Maker's Mark bourbon and MTV to name a few. But he still hasn't figured out what the F11 key on his laptop is all about.
