Dinner Dance to Benefit Children with Autism
HeartShare Human Services is hosting its annual dinner dance to benefit its preschool and school age programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Online, April 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - On Thursday, May 19, HeartShare Human Services of New York will host its 22nd Annual Education Services Dinner Dance at Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach. All proceeds from the event benefit HeartShare's First Step Early Childhood Centers and The HeartShare School, all educational programs for children with autism and other developmental disabilities or delays. A Special Guest appearance will be made by Randy Jones, the original Village People Cowboy.
HeartShare's four First Step Early Childhood Centers offer warm and supportive learning environments to children 3 to 5-years-old. Their special education programs develop each child's skills through education and therapy with the goal of having each child reach his or her fullest potential. The HeartShare School educates children ages 5 to 21 with autism and mental retardation in a classroom setting. Children learn science, language arts, math, world history, geography, visual arts, and music through a variety of teaching methods.
Individual tickets for the Dinner Dance are $85. Sponsorship packages and advertisements in the souvenir journal are also available. Raffle donations are also welcome. For more information, call (718) 323-2877 or visit www.heartshare.org/calendar.
