Under the terms of the agreement, DirectEbooks will manage and distribute The Collins Press titles internationally to over 20 existing retailers including Amazon, CyberRead, Fictionwise and their own Irish-based eBook store, DirectEbooks.com.
Using their innovative ePub Direct platform, DirectEbooks allows Publishers to upload unlimited titles online via a simple form system or even an onix feed. The titles are encrypted with DRM and made available for distribution. Publishers can then log on and view live sales and billing figures as well as edit, update or remove any of their titles.
With a dedicated support team for publishers, DirectEbooks focuses on making the transition from traditional publishing to digital as seamless as possible. Leveraging their experience, technical knowledge and contacts, DirectEbooks make it possible for Publishers to explore all the options available in digital distribution of their titles.
"DirectEbooks will make it easier for our readers to access books written by our emerging authors across a wide range of platforms," said Con Collins, Managing Director of The Collins Press. "eBooks are creating further choices and opportunities for readers and authors alike, and we are committed as always to pursuing more options for our authors. We felt DirectEbooks were a good fit for our business and their simple, straightforward approach and knowledge of the market place made them the natural choice."
"By providing an all-in-one solution to publishers - including conversion, administration, distribution and billing, we are taking the uncertainty out of eBooks for those new to the market." said Gareth Cuddy, Managing Director, DirectEbooks. "Our recent deal with Amazon gives us direct access to the largest eBook retailer in the world. Managing our clients account with over 20 other retailers included reduces their administration and costs. We are delighted that Collins Press have chosen us for their digital distribution needs and we look forward to distributing their exciting titles worldwide."
