DirectRooms.com - Aix En Provence Music Festival Features World Premieres

DirectRooms.com reveals that the 2011 season of the Festival d'Aix en Provence is going to feature a rich line up of musical performances including the world premier of two new productions.

The festival is dedicated to the finest in opera, musical theatre and concerts and will consist of leading musicians and opera companies coming to perform at the event. Among the impressive line up is the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by the world famous Valery Gergiev and Sir Colin Davis.

Highlights of the opera schedule include The Nose by Shostakovich and The Nightingale and Other Tales by Stravinsky. Oscar Bianchi's Thanks to my Eyes will be a world first and the second is Austerlitz, although not specifically an opera but a more modern expression of musical and visual effects.

The festival runs from 5th to 25th July 2011 and this year is seen as one of the most comprehensive and talent filled schedules with over 60 performances taking place over the eight venues by Provence's picturesque surroundings.

A core priority of the festival is to also promote and work with young musicians and the festival has a special academy where students can learn from the professionals. Along with the main productions people booked into an Aix En Provence hotel should try to visit the recitals by the academy students for a chance to see the stars of tomorrow.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The festival is a prestigious event and the need to book hotels early is a priority as the area is overrun with people."
