DirectRooms.com - Boracay Stages Official Leg of The Asian Kiteboard Tour 2011 in March

Online, January 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Kiteboard Tour Asia 2011 (KTA) which is run in conjunction with the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) will take place in Boracay from the 16th to 20th March. Riders will be competing in two main disciplines, freestyle and course racing and the points gained from each event will also count towards a rider's overall position in the world rankings.

Boracay is the fifth stage of the tour with events kicking off in China before heading to Vietnam, Thailand, then the Philippines and finishing in Korea. Organisers are looking to establish the island as one of the key destinations in the tour due to its excellent wind and water conditions. This is due mainly to the bay area where the event will take place, which is protected by a reef that subdues the waters and leads to almost flat conditions.

People interested in watching the competition staying in Boracay hotels can head to the Bulabog beach side to see the riders along with special events such as the KTA Big Air Old Skool Continuous Cup.
