DirectRooms.com - Humour from Far Side: Florence Foresti at the Paris Olympia in June 2010
Online, May 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In France, she has acquired a well deserved reputation as comedy act with a difference, pleasurably shocking and amiably mocking her audience's unexamined assumptions.
After training as a cinematographer, she made her performing debut in a cafe-theatre production called "The Navel of the World" ("Le nOmbril du mOnde", in French) where she appeared as one of an all woman trio "Les Taupes Models". The premier French humorist and actress, Anne Roumanoff, spotted her, and Foresti's career in comedy took off in major way.
Foresti often plays on contradictions which everyone feels but usually ignores, such as 'being a mother'. A mother herself, Foresti found that being a mother and being a woman were not so neatly compatible, and she produced a riotously funny comedy act out of the conflict.
The Olympia is a world famous performing arts venue and was founded in 1889 by the creator of the infamous Moulin Rouge, Joseph Oller. Over the years it has played host to massive international names like Judy Garland, The Beatles, Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Jackson Five and Lady GaGa.
Comedy lovers in search of a truly original humorist will jump at the chance to make a reservation in a Paris hotel to catch this act.
