DirectRooms.com announces that classical music fans can visit Naples for an extended selection of concerts that will run for nearly six months.
Online, April 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Wagner Summer Festival 2011, or The Ravello Music Festival if going by its official name, is a series of concerts featuring the work of classical music's greatest composers and with a number of dedicated works by Richard Wagner.
The performances are predominantly held in the Villa Rufolo gardens which offer a stunning backdrop of the sea and sky to accompany the music. Rufolo was in fact Wagner's inspiration as he composed one of his leading operas, Parsifal.
The festival of concerts start on 2nd April 2011 with pieces by Johannes Brahms and his Scherzo In Do Minore, Sonata N. 1 Op.78 with the Obermann Duo and Giulia Argentino on the violin and Antonio Porpora Anastasio on the piano. The evening will also include a piece by Franz Schubert and the Sonata Op.Posth.162 D.574.
Other highlights of the event include recitals by world famous artists including Fabrizio Romano on the piano, Piero Pellecchia playing clarinet and Nicola Dario Orabona on the cello.
