He was born in 1979 to the name Egbert Nathanial Dawkins and grew up in California's Orange County. He began his career in 1995 and chose his stage name Aloe Blacc before beginning his music career in 1995 as an MC for band, Emanon, under hip hop producer under hip hop producer Exhile.
Aloe first released his own solo album Shine Through with Stonethrow Records in 2006. He followed this up with an album in 2010 called Good Things and collaborated in 2009 with the Cradle Orchestra to work on a project called Open Your Mind where he performed under the name Bee. His most well-known songs are I Need a Dollar and Take Me.
Aloe Blacc's fans will travel to Linz and are likely to stay in Linz hotels over the weekend so that they can take full advantage of the Austrian city.
