Online, November 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Over five days from 8th to 12th December 2010, the Calcutta International Guitar Festival and Competition Nikita Koshkin will comprise some of the leading international guitarists including the festival's title member and Russian composer Nikita Koshkin.

The competition for the event is offering the highest amount of prize money for any guitar contest in Asia, with a total of $16,000 available for the winners in various categories. Guitarists will be competing for prizes in categories such as the best overall performance, best performance of a Koshkin composition, best guitarist from India and a number of other categories. The event is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities to ensure it's a truly international event.

Among the line up of leading guitarists set to perform are Pavel Steidl from the Czech Republic, Carle Costa of Argentina/Germany, Denis Azabagic from the Netherlands/USA and Jose Antonio Escobar from Chile.

Fifteen concerts in total will be played by the guitar maestros and guitar fans staying in cheap Kolkata hotels can also attend the public and private master classes that are being offered at the event.

The performance and classes will take place at the Rabindranath Tagore Centre in the centre of Kolkata (Calcutta).
