We are proud to announce that this year's Central Florida Flying Disc Challenge will be run in parallel with the first qualifier for this season's Ashley Whippet Invitational Qualifying Tour where the top five competitors will be invited to compete for the title of world champion at the AWI Finals this September in Naperville, Illinois. Sunday's long distance throw and catch event will be this season's opener for the 2010 Quadruped Series which provides a format where any handler/dog team has the opportunity to win their respective division. Both days events are free for spectators.
Last years Challenge drew competitors from all over the US and Canada and had over 100 teams including the 2009 Purina National Champion, and Central Florida's own, Gary Duke and Bayer. Both days competitions will be open for any competitor regardless of experience level and anyone who has a dog that can catch a Frisbee is invited to compete. Registration will begin onsite at 8:00 AM on both days, however pre-registration is encouraged for Saturday's event and can be done through our website at http://www.cfdiscdogs.com/challenge.htm. For information regarding competition rules and regulations for Sunday's event please visit http://www.thequadruped.com .
This years event is being held in conjunction with the University of Doglando's second annual DOGLYMPICS (http://www.doglympicsusa.com/) where there will be a variety of recreational and competitive events including the 3K race, longest stay, Dachshund races, hurdles , flyball tournament, lure course racing, and agility demonstrations... just to name a few. Plus our tournament will have plenty of high flying dogs snagging discs out of the sky!
We invite every type of canine competitor from the tiny Chihuahua to the mighty Great Dane, professional to the aloof.
Tired of competing? We will also be showcasing a variety of pet foods, toys, treats, clothes, services and more. In case you are thinking of a new furry friend, local pet adoption groups will also be on-site.
Have a wooftastic time!
