Distinguished Los Angeles Violinmaker, Benning Violins, to Publish Quarterly "Resonance" E-zine
Online, June 18, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Benning Violins, the renowned Los Angeles-area violin shop that has been a mainstay musical institution on the West Coast providing service and sales of fine instruments, has announced the publication of their quarterly online magazine, Resonance, with its inaugural issue published to its subscribers in September 2013.
Los Angeles, CA July 5, 2013 - Benning Violins, the venerable violinmaker providing sales and service of fine and contemporary violins, violas, cellos and bows to the Los Angeles music scene, has announced the publication of a quarterly E-zine. The free online magazine, Resonance, will be published at the beginning of each quarter and circulated to those subscribers on their e-mail list.
"Since the release of our new website in early 2012 and the recent launch of our online violin store, the overall activity of inquiries about instruments and events has steadily increased," explained Client Service Manager Laura Phillips. "We've long had the desire to produce a regular newsletter to our client base and this seems like the right time to do it."
The E-zine will reflect the high level of quality the renowned violin shop, which recently celebrated its 60th year in business, is known for. Established in 1953 by instrument maker Paul Toenniges, the shop now houses the talents of three recognized master violinmakers: Toenniges' daughter, Nancy Benning, her husband Hans Benning and Eric Benning, a preeminent third-generation violinmaker and luthier who has become widely known for his antiqued reproductions of famous Italian-made master violins from the 16th century.
Fine instruments crafted by Nancy, Hans and Eric Benning are played by a number of premier players, concert performers and recording artists such as violinists Aleksandra Maslovaric, Ashot Tigranyan and Henry Gronnier.
"With three active makers, there's always a lot happening in Benning world," said Phillips. "Besides producing several master-crafted violins, violas and cellos each year, we host events, master classes and we currently house the largest collection of fine and contemporary instruments for sale on the West Coast. Resonance will showcase these instruments, offer insights into the makers like Testore, Scarampella, Balestrieri, Gaggini and Blanchi and more. Subscribers will even be able to access video clips of what these instruments look and sound like."
According to Eric Benning, Resonance will become "one more voice joining in an already-existing vibrational chorus" thanks to a resurgent online classical music culture.
"The Internet has come along and demonstrated that not only isn't classical music going extinct, but remains an ever-thriving culture of creative makers, performers, composers and, more than anything, the people who appreciate the music," stated Benning. "The Internet has already brought all of these visions and voices together. With our publication, Resonance, we're hoping to enrich an already beautiful tone with our own supplementary vibration in order to contribute to the richness that this scene brings to the human experience."
Subscriptions to Resonance are free and those interested may sign up on either Benning's flagship website as well as their online retail store.
