Online, December 13, 2012 (Newswire.com) - This holiday season, Doctors Vision Center and its network affiliated offices are hosting a holiday donation drive to support the families of The Boys & Girls Clubs across North Carolina. Doctors Vision Center network offices will be accepting donations at all 44 eye care locations.
"The impact the Boys & Girls Club has on children and families is significant," states William Hollis, President of Doctors Vision Center. "We are excited to support an organization that is dedicated to the well-being and success of kids and teens."
With 45 clubs across the state, The Boys & Girls Club served more than 32,000 young people in 2011, directly impacting thousands of families. The Boys & Girls Club, a national non-profit organization, provides young people with a positive, safe place to go after school. While there, members are able to receive help with homework, participate in educational and sports programs, as well as, learn critical life development skills. Since the club's establishment in North Carolina in 1896, The Boys & Girls Club has touched many lives not only across the state, but the nation as well.
"The holidays are a difficult time for many families, especially many members' families," notes Alan Taylor, Director of Development & Marketing at the Wake County Boys & Girls Club. "We greatly appreciate the generosity and efforts of Doctors Vision Center and their commitment to helping us make a difference for Boys & Girls Club members and families. "
Through the end of December, Doctors Vision Center will be collecting canned goods, grocery store gift cards, winter clothing and personal care items.
