Doha to Host Nationalization Summit in November

Fleming Gulf's 5th Annual Managing Local Talent on 11 - 13 November in Doha, Qatar

The GCC region has long recognized the social and political implication of dependency on an expatriate workforce as well as the need to provide employment opportunities to its nationals as part of it's long term socioeconomic goals. As a result, Government authorities in the region have developed various policies to promote nationalization in the public and private sectors by initiating programs that aid training and development of nationals across various fields. Some of the characteristic challenges faced by HR Professionals in countries promoting nationalization is to motivate nationals to participate actively; to develop skill sets on par with internal standards and to provide a favorable work environment which encourages them to work to their full potential.

Fleming Gulf will host 5th Annual Managing Local Talent which will be held on 11 - 13 November in Doha, Qatar that will focus on the key issues HR professionals are facing while implementing nationalization in their countries. Senior HR professionals from leading companies in the Middle East such as QAPCO, Tasweeq, Ooredoo, Saudi Aramco, Hamad Medical Corporation, Cristal Global, ENDP, GE and others who will congregate at the summit to discuss and benchmark crucial issues on nationalization. Jumana Mashraqi, conference producer, said "While current trends indicate that most nationals are keen to be employed in the public sector, creating positive perceptions and optimism in the private sector will open doors to private players to recruit top level talent from it's local workforce. "

Qatar was a natural choice for the summit not only due it's connectivity in the GCC but Qatar's economy has always been resilient and is expected to return to its high performing standard. By investing heavily in education, health, construction, and infrastructure projects, their economy shows high long-term macroeconomic growth and political stability, in line with it's national vision.
