Approaching 200 spins at Urban Mainstream Radio, balladeer Donell Jones is #5 with a bullet on the Urban AC Radio charts and steadily climbing. Despite a 3 year absence from recording, Jones is right back where he wants to be, on the airwaves sharing his music with his fans. Currently on a promotional tour promoting his recent release "Lyrics", Donell is excited to be holding his own with a new generation of music lovers who appreciate real music. With the album peaking at #28 on Billboard's Top 200 album it is confirmation for Jones that grown folks music is alive and well. "There are a few artists out there I really like that are doing their thing. To me, there are too many people trying to be R&B thugs. It's almost like the R&B game has become the new R&B/rap game or something. There's no more love in the music. You have no choice but to go back and play some 'dusties.' Everybody else is talking about cars and how much money they got, and to me the love is not in the music anymore." -Donell Jones (Youknowigotsoul.com)

As a singer songwriter, Donell Jones has always given us sensual ballads that steamed up the charts. After a tumultuous split with his label in the late 90's, Donell took some time away from the spotlight to focus on his life and his music. The result of his sabbatical was the restructuring of his team. Jones signed with a new manager, Ruben Rodriguez of RAM Talent Group and launched Candyman Music, his own label imprint through eOne distribution. "Lyrics" is his first showing on the charts since 1999 with his two top five fan favorites "U Know What's Up" and "Where I Wanna Be".
