Don't Try to Tame Your Curls, Embrace Them!
Online, November 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Inspiration. That's what is at the heart of ambushed, a Curly-Hair Salon, the newest addition to Columbus' Short North neighborhood.
"People always ask me - 'Who is your inspiration? What is the key to your success?' The answer to both those questions is easy - my clients," admits ambushed salon owner and stylist Amy Bush. "They inspire me each and everyday. They are my muses. They are my encouragement. They are the reason why I stand behind that chair each and everyday."
Professionally trained in New York, London, Toronto, and Los Angeles, Amy and her carefully selected team are poised to fill a niche in the Columbus salon market and beyond.
"I've spent over 20 years in this industry and have created and perfected my philosophies from a collection of experiences," reflects Amy. "Some of these were text book or in the classroom, but, most of them were real life, in various salons, with a multitude of fellow stylists who fueled my passion and desire to not look for what's hip and new, but what's best for my clients."
While all ambushed salon team members will train to care for all hair types, the salon's main focus is to create an experience designed around individuals who long to embrace their curls, not just try to tame them.
From loose, beachy waves to crazy kinky curls, ambushed salon's curl specialists will uncover the extraordinary within.
Your time at ambushed begins with a personal consultation, followed by a deep conditioning treatment and relaxing scalp and neck massage, all while using organic hair care products from Eufora. Your experience continues with the customized cut and/or color your hair has begged for. You'll soon discover that the ambushed journey is unlike any other salon visit you've had before.
To further the experience, Amy partnered with local interior decorator Shane Spencer to transform the once vacant space in the historic Yukon Building at 16 West Poplar to the oasis it is today.
The salon's 20 ft ceilings and a unique skylight already gracefully allowed natural light to dance through the space, but, the serene and artistic atmosphere was completed by a collection of traditional French furniture, touches of black walnut and one-of-a-kind, decorative yet functional pieces re-purposed from the Ohio State University's School of Architecture, customized by local craftsmen.
The calming blue walls also allow for a unique gallery space where local artists' work will be featured on a rotating basis. ambushed salon is thrilled to open up the space with artwork provided and placed by Jeff Hersey, owner of the Terra Gallery.
The space is completed by the antique chemist table used as the island for the stylist's color bar. At ambushed, clients can watch their stylist personally mix the Italian hair color by Jean Alexander that is used exclusively for their color service.
From the unique space to the distinctive services ambushed, a Curly Hair Salon is exactly what you need to embrace your curls and uncover the natural you.
