Dorset-Based Zorbing Pioneers Treat Daily Mirror Reporter To The Ride Of His Life

Adventure sports company Zorbing South show the country that there's more to South-West England than wellies and tractors

Innovators of zorbing in the UK, Zorbing South, invited Daily Mirror reporter Jeremy Armstrong to their Dorchester site in May, to experience first-hand one of the most exciting activities the UK has to offer.

As part of the Daily Mirror's Saturday Travel section, Mr. Armstrong and his family visited the Zorbing South zorbing run to research an article on holidaying in West Dorset. Among the activities in which the group took part were harness zorbing and hydro zorbing - two exciting twists on an extreme sport which is steadily growing in popularity in the UK, under the steam of dedicated companies like Zorbing South.

The completed article on the zorbing holiday experience was published by the Daily Mirror on Saturday the 18th of February.

'It was really exciting for Jeremy and his family to visit us, as Dorset is the home of Zorbing in the UK; it's where it all started back in 2000,' says Paul Knight, owner of Zorbing South, speaking yesterday regarding the upcoming Mirror article.

'Jeremy and his family had a great time, especially hydro zorbing - we filmed their experience and played it back to them, they had a good a chuckle together. Jeremy was very complimentary of our site - he thanked us and said that it was really fun, a great family experience, professionally set up and run in a beautiful location.'

Having been in business at their current location since the turn of the millennium, Zorbing South were the first zorbing company in the country to establish a permanent site. Ever since, Paul has worked closely with the New Zealand-based inventors of the zorbing sport to ensure the continued growth of its popularity overseas, aided by a hard-working team back home in Dorset.
