After balloon sinuplasty patients generally return to normal activities the next day, in contrast to traditional sinus surgery which requires general anesthesia, and a prolonged period of recovery. Another example is thyroid and parathyroid surgery, where I can often use a one-inch incision to perform a surgery that would previously have required a five-inch incision."
