Dr. Leah Hollis, recent honoree of MAINLINE Magazine as one of the "21 Power Women" of the Mainline in Greater Philadelphia, has been on the move with her research on workplace bullying. Of late, she has spoken at the ACE Women of Color Conference in Manhattan, and interviewed with Fox News regarding the player abuse scandal at Rutgers.
"People are striving for solutions regarding workplace bullying..." say Dr. Hollis. "Everyone should have the right to a healthy workplace regardless of Title VII protected status."
This spring, Hollis has conducted several virtual trainings for the K-12 sector on diversity management and offered solutions on how to maintain a diverse environment for teachers, students and staff. Her lectures include speaking with teachers unions and various human resources groups. Further, she has kicked off her webinar series which specifically looks her recent book, Bully in the Ivory Tower: How Aggression and Incivility Erode American Higher Education. Her independent study on the topic confirms that 62% of higher education employees have faced workplace bullying in the last eighteen months. 16% of those who have faced workplace bullying leave the organization, costing that organization 150% of their salary.
With a hectic schedule, Hollis is slated to speak at the Pennsylvania Association of Liaisons and Officers of Multicultural Affairs conference in Lancaster this summer, and will continue with her webinar training series. Hollis also speculates on several summer projects which are in the works which would bring more insight for people trying to stem workplace bullying.
