Dr. Rodney Schmelzer Returns to Salt Lake City

Dr. Rodney Schmelzer returns to the Greater Salt Lake City area, partnering with Dr. Louis Morales and The Craniofacial Foundation of Utah and Plastic Surgery Associates.

Dr. Rodney Schmelzer, craniofacial surgeon, is now a partner at Plastic Surgery Associates in Salt Lake City, Utah. He returns from the Phoenix, AZ area to continue his highly-specialized pediatric care and surgical services in Salt Lake, and serving the Provo, Ogden and Logan areas as well.

Even more important, this craniofacial surgeon's skills and experience are balanced by a kid-focused approach to working with his young patients and a passion for making a difference. Dr Schmelzer says, "When the parents, or child, smile and tell you that you changed their child's life . . . to be a part of that, quite simply, is the most gratifying part of my job." Dr. Schmelzer is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care with the focus on the child first and always. He takes the time to educate parents and families about the child's diagnosis and ensure that all questions are answered.

His extensive experience goes well beyond the basic pediatric plastic surgery; including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, syndromes (Crouzon, Apert, Treacher-Collins and Pfeiffer), vascular malformations (hemangiomas, lymphangiomas), microtia, facial nerve injury, skull and facial tumors (fibrous dysplasia), skull and facial trauma.

Dr. Schmelzer can be found at the offices of Plastic Surgery Associates (5089 S 900 E #100), or the Primary Children's Medical Center (100 Mario Capecchi Dr.) He is a member of many accredited organizations, including American Medical Association (AMA), American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Research Council, American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons.
