Since the onset of the recession, Britons have been travelling abroad less although with the BBC recommending Portugal - and the Algarve in particular - as one of the top ten destinations for winter sun, Algarve accommodation ( http://www.algarveguesthouse.com/rooms/ )is expecting a bumper interest over the winter period. Visitors to Duas Quintas can use the Silves bed and breakfast ( http://algarveguesthouse.com/silves-bed-and-breakfast )as a base for their travels in the area, with many local attractions filling the travel guides for the area.

With 15 acres of private land for visitors to utilise, including a swimming pool and barbecue Duas Quintas offers guests ample opportunity to enjoy their free day taking in the winter sun.

Mary Cave, owner of Duas Quintas, said: 'Winter is a lovely time to visit the Algarve. The mild climate means that there are plenty of sunny days, which are wonderful for walking, cycling and exploring the area. There are less tourists, of course so everyone has more time to spend with visitors. The atmosphere in the shops and restaurants is very relaxed and welcoming. Here at Duas Quintas, we find winter is a very special season. We discover new birds in the garden migrating from colder climates. The oranges begin to ripen, bringing colour and wonderful smells.'
