Q: People in Galveston might remember you as a member of the Wharves Board back in the days when people were debating a proposal to merge the island port with the Port of Houston. What have you been doing since then?
A: I saw and spent more time with my parents in Louisiana due to my Dad's health and brain tumor. After 55 years of marriage, they both passed way within three months of each other. I sold my three software businesses, my parents' home in Galveston and remarried.
I also obtained my insurance and real estate licenses and am currently operating a realty business called Homes Dunn Right.
Q: "Circle of Time" is your second book. When did you decide to start writing?
A: Fifteen years ago, I read a book titled "What They Don't Teach You At Harvard Business School: Notes From A Street -Smart Executive" by Mark H. McCormack. The title is misleading, however, one thing I did accomplish from the book was to stop procrastinating and do something that you thought you didn't have the time to do.
Q: What drew you to mysteries?
A: My father was a storyteller and was great at creating scenarios to color his tale.
Q: Is there a Galveston tie to this book? Might any of the settings or characters be familiar?
A: No, there is no Galveston tie to my book. I did think about adding or creating a couple of Galveston characters, but decided against that notion because I could not take them to the next level.
Q: What's next? Have you got another writing project on the horizons?
A: Yes, I am working on a third book and it may include some settings and landmarks in Galveston.
