Online, September 2, 2011 (Newswire.com) - With the addition of Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination), independent film Dust of War has added the final element of its star-studded cast. Currently filming in central South Dakota, the high-concept, independent movie also features film stars Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) and Gary Graham (Alien Nation, Star Trek: Enterprise). Adding Todd to the cast ensures that key character Crispus Hansen will have a strong and powerful on-screen presence.
"Tony Todd is actor who harbors the intensity of an active volcano," Director Andrew Kightlinger said. "Honestly, there couldn't be a better fit for the role of Crispus Hansen, a traveling showman with a dark history."
Set in a post-apocalyptic American frontier, Dust of War tells the story of a lone soldier who fends off a brutal warmonger to rescue a girl fated to be the savior of mankind. Todd-who starred as the terrifying Candyman in the film series of the same name and had key roles in films like The Crow and Final Destination-will work alongside Hollywood star Doug Jones in the film as the ringleader of "The Hansen and Strumm Traveling Band."
"To have two stars like Tony Todd and Doug Jones working together is a director's dream," Kightlinger said. "With the talent they bring to the table, we can't wait to see the results of their work together."
Dust of War is currently filming just east of Pierre, SD, and will continue shooting through early September. The film is slated to finish post-production by early 2012.
