DVDFab Blu-ray Copy Supports to Create .miniso File to Be Mounted by DVDFab Virtual Drive
DVDFab Blu-ray Copy is possible to create .miniso file in output folder when copying. The output files can be mounted by DVDFab Virtual Drive for playing by Blu-ray software player.
Online, March 24, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Great news that DVDFab Blu-ray Copy has an added option: Create .miniso file in output folder to be mounted by DVDFab Virtual Drive. It can produce a new format (.miniso), then DVDFab Virtual Drive 1.2.0.0 or later version can mount this one with image file, and the output Blu-ray folder with .miniso file in it can be played by PowerDVD or other Blu-ray software player since just simulates a normal ISO image file.
What is .miniso file?
As you already know, a normal ISO image file always includes two things: image header and folders/files. And the .miniso file can be simply regarded as the image header. In this situation, DVDFab Virtual Drive is able to simulate normal ISO image file with .miniso file and the folders/files. This .miniso file is much smaller than ISO file, only 1-2 MB.
Why Blu-ray Copy supported to create .miniso file?
We know that some Blu-ray player software cannot play Blu-ray movie by folder, such as PowerDVD. But if you just copy Blu-ray movie to folder on hard drive for backup, it is hard to watch it. So Blu-ray Copy supports to copy Blu-ray movie to the folder on your hard drive with a file in the format of .miniso included. Then you can use DVDFab Virtual Drive to mount the .miniso file in, and play the Blu-ray folder content by PowerDVD, just like playing a normal ISO image file.
Something needed to know about DVDFab while creating .miniso file:
1. Please make sure that the DVDFab Virtual Drive installed on your computer is 1.2.0.0 version or later.
2. The .miniso file can be created when copying Blu-ray from disc to folder, or from folder to folder. But now it requires re-reading and writing work for the existing Blu-ray folder when using the folder to folder method. Happy to announce that some solution in one later DVDFab release will be provided, there definitely will be a faster way to create .miniso file from the existing folder.
3. In a word, it's so fast for creating .miniso file that you may even not note any difference about the whole Blu-ray copy processing time.
4. The .miniso file mounted by DVDFab Virtual Drive has been tested times after times that it works very well with PowerDVD 10 and Total Media Theater 5, and should also work with other software players that can play Blu-ray image files.
