DWC Celebrates 23 Years While Saving Lives & Creating Jobs in Michigan

Saving lives, providing education and creating jobs are Detroit Wholistic Center and Wholistic Training Institute's tools to heal and uplift Detroit, MI. and the world. DWC, founded by Jesse Brown in 1987, is celebrating 23 years of success.

The Wholistic Training Institute celebrates its 11th year offering training and certification in wholistic health services such as colon hydrotherapy.

WTI graduates go on to serve the public in Michigan and across the
country. DWC & WTI have serviced and/or educated over 40,000 people since 1987.

DWC is on a mission to raise awareness regarding colon health screening
and prevention of deaths due to colon cancer. Colon cancer, the 2nd
most deadly cancer, claimed the lives of almost 50,000 Americans last
year. (SEE:www.michigancancer.org/Resources/CancerFactSheets.cfm )

The American Cancer Society offers sobering information regarding colon
cancer and related deaths: "In Michigan, 2,526 men and 2,669 women were
diagnosed with invasive colorectal cancer in 2006. In 2008, 901 men and
919 women died from colorectal cancer." The disparities between the
sexes and between people of different ethnic backgrounds as they relate
to those affected by colon cancer are of particular interest to Jesse
Brown. His grandfather died of the disease.

The American cancer society goes on to report: "The incidence of
colorectal cancer is higher among men compared to women. Men also die
from colorectal cancer at a higher rate than women. The incidence of
colorectal cancer is higher among African Americans compared to
Caucasians. African-Americans are more likely than Caucasians to die
from colorectal cancer. However, even at the same stage of diagnosis,
African-American men and women show lower survival rates than white men
and women."

DWC is committed to the goal of decreasing colon cancer deaths by 30%
within the next 5 years. In fact, Dotolo Research Corporation, one of
DWC's primary suppliers, is helping DWC to further the mission to
provide effective colon health services by providing its unique colon
hydrotherapy equipment. This equipment allows the therapists to perform
colon therapy with a method of cleansing without the use of drugs or
chemicals of any kind.

Dotolo Research Corporation's equipment has made the colon therapy much
easier for patients to tolerate. Maintaining good colon health and
understanding the importance of colon health screening is helping to
diminish the loss of life due to this preventable and curable disease.
The ironic fact that colon cancer is very curable cancer when found
early, acts as a further catalyst to inspire Jesse Brown and his team
of wholistic health providers to raise awareness, provide care, teach
and to save lives.

"We can reduce colon cancer death by 30% within the next 10 years,
safely and naturally."
--Jesse R. Brown

Since 1987 DWC has steadily expanded to provide a comprehensive
selection of wholistic health and wellness therapies in addition to the
colon hydrotherapy. Wholistic Training Institute's central mission has
been to "Create a Healer in Every Home" by training, educating and
offering job placement assistance to an ever-growing force of wholistic
health therapists.

Many people affected by the current employment
crisis are looking to change careers and do pursue professional paths
that will greatly enhance their ability to earn a good living. Colon
hydrotherapy and other wholistic health therapies offer an attractive
employment option for those looking to start or change careers. WTI
trains and DWC offers a range of therapies in addition to colon
hydrotherapy that include iridology, body wrapping, detoxifying foot
baths and Egyptian hand & foot massage.

The DWC 23 Anniversary Open House on Aug. 29th from 2:00pm to 7:00pm is
free and open to the public. Jesse Brown, the DWC staff and WTI
instructors welcome the community, certified/qualified wholistic-health
job seekers, wholistic healers, traditional health providers, teachers,
students and families from near and far to come out and celebrate Food,
Fun, Fellowship and Film. DWC will be honoring the Ancestors; Dr. &
Mother Elizabeth Bracey, Dr. Reginald Larrie, Luvenia Kaduma, Floyd
Mattison and Gwen Simms.

There will be open enrollment of fall classes
and a graduation ceremony for the latest WTI graduates. The crowd's
taste buds will be engaged by natural food preparation demos
facilitated by renowned Lifestyle Chef BJ Williams. There will be a
special film, anniversary specials for guests, live music & spoken
word, face painting for the kids and more. Ozie Pye will facilitate
this year's wholistic hot topic; "Medical Marijuana...Prosperity or
Problems for Michigan?"
