Dwight Howard Departs From The Lakers, Joins The Houston Rockets

Online, July 6, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The latest episode of the Dwightmare saga is finally over. The Superman has finally made his decision. Announcing his next destination through Twitter, which caught fire awaiting his feed, he confirmed the reports stating that the Houston Rockets are the next team he will be playing.

The entire NBA world reacted with various ways. After all, the future of the 6'11" dominant center was the most important decision of the 2013 free agency. Kobe Bryant responded to the news, posting a photo of him and Paul Gasol on Instagram.

Howard will most probably sign a four-year deal worth around $88 million with the Rockets, leaving an additional year and another $30 million behind in Los Angeles. D12 will now continue the legacy that Houston has on its centers. Following Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming, he will now be the next superstar in the middle. Both of them participated in Howard's recruiting efforts.

Together with All-Star guard James Harden, Howard is expected to form a powerful duo of a big and a short. A few other moves are expected from the team, in the direction to completing its roster, the one that will battle its way towards an NBA Championship next season.

During last year, Howard averaged 17.1 points and 12.4 rebounds, in what was a drama season for the Los Angeles Lakers. Howard is widely expected to uplift his performance with his new team. In LA, the entire team never really developed the chemistry needed to make things work out well for them.
