Earnest Harris Sets Date For Principal Photography For Next Film, "Wanda's Place"
Film Will Star Robin Givens, Loretta Devine, Paul Rodriguez and An All-Star Cast
Online, May 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Earnest Harris, the scriptwriter, co-producer and director for the feature film, "Wanda's Place," has selected September of this year for the start of principal photography for the long awaited comedy.
The film, which stars an all-star cast, including Robin Givens, Loretta Devine, Paul Rodriguez, Tommy Davidson, and several other top stars, had originally been planned to shoot last year but delays partially related to scheduling issues and the writer's strike caused it to be taken off the calendar. But Harris, and his wife, Dianna Perales Harris, who co-own and run Marlo Productions, a Marlo Entertainment Company, never gave up on the project.
"This script means a lot to Dianna and I," said Earnest Harris. "The story, while funny, has an important message for this crazy time in our country and I think that is why the script resonated with so many great actors."
The film will shoot for approximately five weeks on sets in and around Los Angeles. This is the long anticipated follow up film to "A Simple Promise," which debuted in 2008 and is now available on DVD. According to Harris, while he sees similarities between the types of films they are, this one is a big departure for him, as it will be his first full out comedy, having previously directed the drama "A Simple Promise" and a suspense thriller "Witness2Murder."
And this time Earnest Harris says he will not wait so long between projects as he has yet another feature film slated to go into production six months after completing principal photography on 'Wanda's Place." That film, will be another dramatic shift, as it will be an urban drama about a former Latino gangbanger who is trying to get his life together after getting out of prison.
"Hey I like a lot of different types of movies," Harris said, " and I want to make the movies that I know I would want to see. And hopefully otherswill want to see them too. But no matter what I simply love making movies and just am glad to be back in the fray again."
