Microsoft launched Skype for Business earlier this year – a new platform that combines the benefits of its existing enterprise-grade Microsoft Lync platform, with the Skype platform it acquired in 2011.
Easynet was selected by Microsoft due to its considerable experience in the roll-out of Microsoft Lync and its track record of working closely with Microsoft to deliver complex and innovative global projects to businesses such as Sibelco, Terumo, Primagaz, Q-Park, and Asics.
“We’re delighted to have been chosen by Microsoft.” reveals Philip Grannum, Easynet’s Managing Director of Cloud, Hosting & UC Services, “This recognition to include us among its top 50 global Skype for Business partners underscores our expertise in UC&C and reinforces our position in the global UC arena.”
“As a Skype for Business launch partner we’re able to offer our customers the assurance that we can deliver high quality solutions irrespective of location or complexity. It's a ringing endorsement from Microsoft which is reinforced by the specialist training they invested in launch partners earlier this year”.
Easynet differentiates its offering by deploying both server (private) and on-line (public) options in a hybrid cloud model. This allows solutions to be tailored to provide the best fit to its customers, both commercially and technically. Furthermore, Easynet can integrate legacy videoconferencing infrastructure with Skype for Business thereby protecting previous and often costly investments made by organisations. This integration means that enterprises can preserve assets such as videoconferencing rooms whilst allowing literally anyone to join a Skype for Business call by using a simple web browser, thereby championing the ubiquitous ‘anywhere, anytime, any device’ ethos of UC&C.
Grannum goes on to say, “Our key focus is the integration and adoption of UC; we act as a trusted partner on the UC journey to ensure success. We can accompany clients throughout the whole migration process – from consultancy to support – gaining insight into their business processes, user behaviour and data streams. Additionally we look at their underlying network to see whether this can support the intensive real-time data traffic of chat and multi-party videoconferencing.”
Skype for Business integrates the user experience from Skype with the enterprise-grade, secure and managed benefits of Microsoft’s former Lync 2013 service. New features include: a simplified and user-friendly interface; the innovative ‘Call-Via-Work’ feature to provide easy PBX integration; and audio access to a local device when mobile. Easynet can provide a fully managed cloud hosted Skype for Business service with a simple per-user monthly commercial pricing model.
