EAU ROUGE Release New Single "Hunting Melodies"
Stuttgart-based trio EAU ROUGE release their newest single "Hunting Melodies" on the 13th May via AdP Records ahead of their debut, full length album "Nocturnal Rapture"
London, United Kingdom, May 13, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Since launching in 2013 the band have already signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner/ Chappell. Performing at this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas, EAU ROUGE have already shared the stage with the likes of The National, Warpaint, Blood Red Shoes, Crystal Fighters and SBTRKT, toured Sweden and played at festivals including Stuttgart Festival, Sound of the Forest amongst others.
The German trio comprised of Jonas Teryuco (Vocals / Guitar / Keys / Bass), Bo Zillmann (Guitar / Vocals / Bass / Keys) and Magnus Frey (Drums / Percussion) released their debut EP in 2014 followed by a tour across Sweden. While working on their debut album during 2015 the band also had their track ‘Golden Nights’ featured on TV shows and Red Bull videos.
With a sound that teeters between alternative-rock, dream pop and indietronica EAU ROUGE draw influence from the likes of Muse, Placebo, Warpaint, Boys Noize, Justice and M83. Jonas’ voice is bright, passionate, yet dark and somewhat elegiac. Bo’s guitars give birth to a unique arrangement of sounds, guitar-heavy and densely layered whilst Magnus’ drums are dynamic, yet fragile. The sounds of their romantic odes to the perfect night are melancholic and haunting. Benedikt Maile who they call the fourth band member is in charge of the production of most of their music.
Using overwhelming sound of synthesizers, high guitars in reverb, heavy drums and a whispered voice “Hunting Melodies” is exemplary for the band’s ability to neatly combine indie and electronica keeping an eerie flavor in it. “Hunting Melodies” is a soundtrack for the first hours after sunset, when you still see that magical glow on the western horizon that leads you into the night. Take a drive, roll down the window, feel the warm breeze in you hair and then get into the mix! The song definitely is on the rockier side of our sound-spectrum, yet dancy and intensive. Which we thought makes a great first single that sets people in the mood for what's to come on 'Nocturnal Rapture'.”
"This song comes from the basement. We recorded it in a basement and we shot the video in a basement. It is dark, it is gloomy, it makes you wanna move but as the song progresses, it rises (from the basement) - it goes hunting for melodies."
This year is a promising one for EAU ROUGE with their performance at SXSW, the release of fresh music and a tour around Germany, Austria and Switzerland in October. Stay tuned for imminent updates as we announce further shows across the UK and Europe.
