Ecomondo and Africa Bioresource Economy

This event is particularly important as it offers the much-needed networking and engagement required to bolster Africa’s nascent bioresource economy.

Organized at Rimini Expo Centre from 7th to 10th November 2017, by Italian Exhibition Group, it hosts more than 1,200 companies exhibiting their products and processes and 105,000 delegates from more than 40 countries.

This event is particularly important since Italy is among the leading countries in Europe in the green and circular economy, in particular on energy efficiency, waste recycling, and resource productivity. Reconfirmed, for November 7th and 8th, the States General of the Green Economy, organized by the National Council of the Green Economy made up of 64 associations of “green companies”, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for the Environment and the Ministry of Economic Development.

This year's edition will analyze the growth and opportunities of the new market of the bio-based industry. The primary goal is to strengthen the strategic alliance with the natural gas industry, taking biomethane as the point of transition between renewable and traditional energy. To support the exhibition part, a wide calendar of seminars and conferences will enrich the show, also thanks to the collaboration with the European Commission, the States General of the Green Economy and the African Biogas Association. The focus on the Mediterranean area will involve discussions on such initiatives aiming all at a long-term coordination of European and non-EU Countries towards R&I activities in the field of bio-economy. The objective is to try to create trans-national synergies and complementarities, providing added value to regional, national and EU investments, required for the promotion of Mediterranean primary production and industry, with, in turn, positive impacts on local social cohesion and political stability.

Record-breaking figures for the initiatives programmed: 550 buyers participating in 4,500 business meetings; 520 journalists accredited in the press room and 163 million media contacts thanks to the excellent coverage by generalist and trade/specialist press; feedback amplified by the social networks, which doubled the overall impressions.
