Ed Anderson blends bluegrass and jazz to bring us an extraordinary new sound
Online, June 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - ED ANDERSON
Ed Anderson's soulful sound comes from a lifetime of stories and musical talent and musical experiences. His guitar playing is exceptional, precise, clean and almost mathematical. His story telling skills are like reading a novel. Together they are beautifully mastered and delivered to his audiences everywhere.
Ed has been singing since he was a small child. AT the age of 11 he began writing songs while learning how to play the guitar.
Once on stage, his shyness seemed to disappear, immersing himself into his stories that he's telling.
Ed sang in a duo called 'Some Guy & A Newfie" back in 2001 - 2003. They put out a CD titled "Carry Me Home". He also sang in a trio called "Alicken Hue" from 2001 - 2003. He played bars, coffee houses, restaurants, weddings, etc.. He did put his music aside for a few years, focusing on his work. In 2009, he got back into music because his work was slow, so he took that window of opportunity and began to play again, bringing his music to Coombs Fair in August, 2009, the Dinghy Dock Pub on August 17. He did shows at the Dinghy Dock Pub for one month.
Ed has been writing songs with a friend of his from Ontario. Their latest collaboration is called "Always Tomorrow". Today, Ed Anderson is a solo artist.
His new single, "Sail Away", is off of the CD with the same title. "It is about 2 lost souls who meet up on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. She's hitch hiking and he's driving along - picks her up - they talk for hours and end up together - then proceeds to as her to marry him." The song is sung with relatable emotion and the guitar playing is pure gold. It has a perky beat, great rhythm and a down-right country/bluegrass melody to it.
This CD is available digitally and physically.
Ed played at the Vancouver Island Music Festival in 2001 and 2002 with The Trio Alicken Hue. Amy Sky was there along with Spirit Of The West and other big named artists.
Ed Anderson is currently working with A & R Select based out of West Hollywood, Ca. for a record deal, licensing, publishing and/or placement opportunities. For additional information, please contact A & R at 323-924-5897 (www.arselect.com)
