To support this practice, Tyson noted that he encourages his team to focus on listening more than talking when they’re meeting a new contact. “Ask questions that encourage the other person to open up and share details about themselves,” he suggested. “Think of yourself as a reporter hunting down a big story, which in this case would be how can you mutually help each other.”
