DrFirst has been a key partner in this process and has helped the gMed team to deliver a superior eâ€prescribing solution. gMed's electronic prescribing solution is integrated with the physician's workflow and is compliant with the industry standards.
gMed's eâ€prescribing functionality includes the ability to receive patient benefit information from payers connected to the Surescripts network. Prescribers using gMed's EHR can also, with a patient's permission, request aggregated history of patient prescriptions from payers and pharmacies. Connectivity also allows gMed prescribers to send new prescriptions to over 85% of the nation's pharmacies, and manage prescription renewals electronically. The certifications, along with the addition of doseâ€checking to this release, provide the functionality required to meet the definition of a qualified Eâ€prescribing system for both the MIPPA and HITECH acts.
