Electric Vehicles: Unique EV Charging Solution Gets Green Light To Enter Market With UL Listing
Texas Company GRIDbot LLC Becomes One of Just Five Companies That Can Now Deliver a UL Approved Charging Station For Public Charging of EVs in North America
Online, May 3, 2011 (Newswire.com) - An innovator in the bustling Electric Vehicle Industry, GRIDbot LLC, announced, today, they are ramping up production, after achieving the UL listing for their UP80J and UP100J, Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVSE). Intertek, a Nationally Registered Test Laboratory recently granted the GRIDbot "UP" charging stations the ETL mark for UL2231-1, UL2231-2, and UL991 after they withstood demanding tests for safety and were found ready to install in public places.
GRIDbot spokesperson, Richard Donnelly says, "With the UL listing of our stations, our networked charging solution is now ready for Prime-Time."
Both stations offer the new Level-2 standard connector accepted by all major automakers newly released electric vehicles, such as the VOLT and LEAF, with the GRIDbot UP100J also offering the classic Level-1 receptacle, suitable new EV, E-Bikes, E-Scooters and older Evs.
The company is proud to be the first to offer EV drivers access to charging stations at their work-place, apartment, or favorite retail destination, by controlling the station with a cell phone. A secure network communication between the stations, the vehicles, and the driver sets the stage for the GRIDbot network that promotes the use of renewable energy on the GRID. The company, based in Austin, TX is raising the bar in the public and fleet access EVSE market, and will start shipping orders out of their local factory in Leander.
