Elle Febbo Rallies Community Support for Foster Youth Event

Belle of the Ball Event: Best-Selling Author Elle Febbo Rallies Community Support for So. CA Foster Youth Event

Former foster child turned best-selling author, Elle Febbo rallies her community for the second year in a row in support of girls in foster care attending the Belle of the Ball event, scheduled for March 24th in Orange County, CA through the Orangewood Children's Foundation. The author herself is a former resident at Orangewood Children's Home.

The event is designed to empower and uplift girls in foster care and at-risk homes, and provides the opportunity for every girl to be "The Belle of the Ball". The teens are able to "shop" for free for dresses, shoes, accessories and handbags, all donated by individuals, service groups and other organizations.

"I feel like I've got an opportunity here to support my little sisters. On this night, they'll feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside, and it's all made possible because people care enough to come together to make it happen...these girls will remember this magical event for years to come", says Febbo, who says she's "grateful" to Orangewood, and to the Foundation for all they did for her as a child, and all they continue to do for local children in need.

Donations can be dropped off at The Mint fashion Exchange in Simi Valley, CA, at Knollwoods Pharmacy in Granada Hills, CA, First Bank in Laguna Niguel, Women Helping Women in Santa Ana, or at Orangewood Children's Foundation, 1575 E. 17th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92705.

Her best-seller, "What Love Is A-Z" has been used as a tool for fundraising for Orangewood Children's Home and OCF. She's volunteered her time for the past 2 years to OCF Career Fairs with Transitioning Foster Youth and her books have been donated to the home as a gift to child residents.

The author is also a Spokesperson and Advocate of Reading is Fundamental of Southern California (RIFSoCal), leading reading and child empowerment workshops for LAUSD and other local districts, and her award winning book, "What Love Is A-Z" is currently being used as a fundraising tool for the Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida (CCHR Florida)., and is the most recent Film Advisory Board Award Winner.
