Ellie Goulding Scoops Pandora Breakthrough Award at Glamour Awards
Pop sensation Ellie Goulding receives honour from Pandora jewellery at Glamour Magazine ceremony.
Online, June 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Not long after she performed exclusively for the happy couple at the recent Royal Wedding reception, Ellie Goulding has been bestowed with another honour, this time courtesy of Pandora jewellery.
24 year-old Goulding was awarded the Pandora Breakthrough of the Year Award at the 2011 Glamour Magazine Awards.
The ceremony, which took place in Central London last week (7 June), saw a host of female stars presented with gongs for their achievements over the past year.
However, Goulding was the only recipient of an award which bore the name of Pandora, the event's official sponsor. The award was presented in recognition of Goulding's spectacular year, which began with the release of her debut album 'Lights' in 2010 and has seen her fast rise as one of the UK's leading, BRIT Award-winning female singer/songwriters.
She follows in the footsteps of Alexandra Burke, who won the similarly-titled Newcomer Award in 2010. However, with this year being the first instance of popular jewellery brand Pandora partnering with Glamour's event, Goulding is the first ever artist to win the Pandora Breakthrough Award.
Pandora jewellery is one of the biggest jewellery phenomenons of recent years, with its extensive collection of unique charms and other jewellery pieces appealing to jewellery fans around the world. Since its charm bracelet concept launched ten years ago, the profile of the Danish brand has risen further here in the UK with its sponsorship of Glamour Magazine's annual awards event highlighting its increasing cultural significance.
