eMedonline®/ NIH Drug Compliance Study Results To Be Presented

98% Drug Compliance Rate Seen as Possible Solution To Reduce $177 Billion Healthcare Problem

CHICAGO, IL (Jan 29, 2010) - Leap of Faith Technologies, Inc., today announced that Barbara A. Rapchak, Founder and CEO, will present data from a National Cancer Institute funded clinical study confirming the effectiveness of the company's eMedonline™ wireless platform technology to achieve higher levels of medication compliance among patients taking one to 10 prescription medications daily. The control group demonstrated 66% compliance over the same period. Rapchak's presentation, "The Effect of Telemonitoring on Adherence and Behavior," will occur at the First Annual mHealth Networking Conference held in Washington, D.C. on February 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

Medication non-compliance is a costly healthcare problem - adding approximately $177 billion annually to the nation's healthcare expenditures, according to the National Council on Patient Information & Education. Three out of four Americans do not take their medicine as directed, a dilemma which leads to additional doctor visits, hospitalizations, early admission to assisted-care facilities, and other treatments.

Leap of Faith's eMedonline® wireless platform technology integrates cell phones, radio frequency identification (RFID), and health and behavioral informatics to optimize medication compliance, track medication use, and extend patient care to the ambulatory setting. "eMedonline™ integrates most, if not all, of the key features required for behavior change, which up until now, have been addressed separately by numerous other approaches," said David Lindeman, M.D., Director of the Center for Technology and Aging. Additional field studies of eMedonline®, sponsored by several large healthcare corporations are underway.

The mHealth Networking Conference, sponsored by mHealth Initiative-a non-profit organization focused on the emerging mHealth revolution - will be held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Washington, D.C. on February 3-4, 2010.
