Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort Celebrates 100 For The 100th
This year marks the 100th birthday for the RV industry. Events are planned throughout the US to celebrate the grand occasion.
Online, May 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Panama City Beach, Florida-May 21, 2010--Florida Gov. Crist recently signed a resolution naming June as Recreational Vehicle and Camping Month. 20% of all auto visitors to Florida are either campers or Rver's and generate more than $5 billion for the state's economy. Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida is happy to be a part of this industry which is celebrating their 100th birthday this year. In the 13 years that the resort has been catering to the RV owner, we have seen a number of changes. Some of them we thought were new but now find out that they aren't as new as we thought.
We saw slide-outs, (slides, bump outs, what ever you care to call them), become popular over the past few years. But guess what?? In 1916 there was a Model T Ford with something called "telescopes" which opened up the sleeping area on one of the earliest RV's. Don't believe me? Check out http://www.rvcentennial.org/?esid=landi.
I guess the adage, "Everything old is new again", really is true. If we had pictures of covered wagons crossing to the west, we would probably discover that they had some of the "amenities" that we believe we invented.
We at Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort are going to be selecting 100 names from the guests who stay with us between June 18 and July 16, 2010 and giving those guests gift certificates worth 10% off of their next stay. In addition, one of the 100 names will receive a gift certificate for a two night free stay at our top rated RV park to help celebrate the RV industry's 100th birthday. We are looking forward to seeing where RV's go in the next 100 years. (We're planning on being here to see what they look like, aren't you?)
