Emperor's College Congratulates Winter 2011 Scholarship Award Winners
Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, one of the oldest and most distinguished acupuncture colleges in the nation, is pleased to announce the winter 2011 scholarship award winners.
Online, February 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Santa Monica, CA - Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, one of the oldest and most distinguished acupuncture colleges in the nation, is pleased to announce the winter 2011 scholarship award winners. Sarah Nargiso was awarded with the Founder's Scholarship ($1,500). Drew Nystrom received the Dean's Scholarship ($1,000).
The winners were chosen on the basis of an essay that explained their understanding of a quote from Emperor's College Founder, Dr. Bong Dal Kim, OMD, LAc, and how it applies to their learning and personal life. Dr. Kim's words reflect the mission of Emperor's College and serve as an inspiration for acupuncture students: "Ultimately, the effectiveness of an Oriental medicine practitioner depends upon his or her ability to be a clear conduit through which energy can flow. Beyond wisdom and intellect, this requires an open heart. Students at Emperor's College are encouraged to learn with their open heart."
"I highly encourage all students to apply for this scholarship. Writing the essay was a great opportunity to share my personal story and my love of traditional Oriental medicine," said Sarah Nargiso, winner of the Founder's Scholarship. "Winning the scholarship awarded me $1,500 towards my tuition in 2011. This money definitely relieved some financial pressure for the year. Thank you Emperor's College! It is an honor!"
Emperor's College awards $3,000 in scholarships each winter and summer quarter to students who best display the mission of Emperor's College - create the future of health care by word, deed, and through partnerships. The scholarship program encompasses three scholarships: Founder's Scholarship, Dean's Scholarship, and Alumni Scholarship. In addition to the scholarships offered by Emperor's College, students can receive study support through outside sources. More information on available scholarships and how to apply may be found on the Emperor's College scholarships web page.
