Empowering a Billion Women by 2020 Brings on Tina Tchen, Former Exec. Director of White House Council on Women and Girls Under President Obama, as Special Advisor

Company Aimed at Creating Jobs, Helping Business Owner Success, and Fueling Economy

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Empowering a Billion Women by 2020 (EBW2020) has just announced bringing on Tina Tchen, Former Assistant to President Obama, Former Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama, and Executive Director of The White House Council on Women and Girls, as the Special Advisor to EBW2020’s CEO and Founder, Ingrid Vanderveldt.  Tchen will also be developing a “Mentoring Series” with EBW as a means to pay it forward for women globally.

“Empowering women and girls through entrepreneurship and financial literacy using technology is a critical tenant of getting our global economy back on track,” says Tina Tchen.  “For years I have been looking at how we can create a scalable system that can help customize, curate, and connect women and girls to the resources they needs to succeed as leaders and entrepreneurs.  EBW has created a key system to accomplish this objective and I am proud to work on this grand global vision to bring this solution and a new “Mentoring Series” to a billion women (and girls) by 2020,” says Tchen.

“We are enormously proud to announce these new developments at EBW2020,” says Ingrid Vanderveldt, Founder and CEO of EBW2020. “We are proud to partner with global leaders like Tina who are genuinely interested in the health and welfare of women worldwide. This has been a year of incredible growth and with these collaborations we will continue to grow strategically to meet global demand. We are honored to do this with partners like Tina.”

"I am proud to stand behind the financial empowerment of women and girls worldwide and to help bring the stories of mentors that have inspired me to women everywhere," says Tchen. "We are excited to help further the mission of innovation and empowerment around the globe by working towards this shared goal with EBW2020 and its leaders."

Building on this momentum, EBW2020 and Tchen, will be co-hosting a number of events this week in Austin, TX during SXSW.
