According to the article, Ricardo Ariztía Pinto began to plant vineyards with his son, and was able to produce enough fruit to become a large player in the fruit industry. In the 1980s, Empresas Ariztía saw tremendous growth as it incorporated "cutting edge" technology and high development strategies.

The result of the company's effort was a jump from nine percent of the market share in 1974 to approximately 30 percent in 1981. Overseas distributors began to take notice, and exports to Japan began, causing even more improvement in product quality and processes.

Empresas Ariztía has three processing plants, two of them in the central zone of Chile and one near the northern border of the country. Each plant has IQF fast freezing tunnels that enable a better structure to process the fowl, as well as boiling and smoking tunnels for finished, ready to eat, turkey. According to the Ariztía Web site, all the plants have HACCP, ISO 9001 certifications, among other features.

As a true indication of the Empresas Ariztía success, the company is able to serve several export markets like Mexico, the European Economic Community, Canada, China, Japan, various Latin American countries, and the west coast of Africa.
