EMS Provider ControlTek Invests in New Capital Equipment
The EMS contract manufacturer adds two Heller 1809 MKIII Reflow Ovens and a new Trident LD Automatic Defluxing System to its Vancouver manufacturing facility
Online, February 17, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider ControlTek, Inc., has invested in two new Heller 1809 MKIII Reflow Ovens and a 3 chamber Trident LD Automatic Defluxing system. The new equipment provides additional speed and flexibility during changeovers as well as enhanced product reliability from contaminant-free manufacturing processes.
The company added the Heller 1809 MKIII Reflow Ovens to increase its reflow soldering capabilities and improve overall manufacturing efficiency. Reflow soldering is the one of the most common methods used to attach surface mount components to a printed circuit board. The new reflow ovens have been added to two surface mount assembly lines (http://www.controltek.com/capabilities/manufacturing_circuit_assembly.php) at ControlTek for improved standardization between the manufacturer's production lines. Heller's unique changeover feature will improve ControlTek's ability to provide quicker set-up and greater flexibility during production. Flexibility is an important factor in the contract manufacturer's ability to provide its customers with low to medium volume, high mix assembly of circuit boards, cables, box builds, test and electronic design services.
"We added the new manufacturing equipment to guarantee we'll be able to continue our longstanding tradition of providing the best possible manufacturing services for our customers who are often looking for small to medium volume manufacturing capabilities," says Andy LaFrazia, President of ControlTek. "Standardization of our systems and flexibility in set-up are key components to making sure we can provide these services to our customers at competitive pricing."
The new Trident LD Automatic Defluxing system uses an environmentally responsible, water-based defluxing solution with built-in testing technology that ensures ControlTek's reflow soldering produces contaminant-free products with a high level of product reliability.
The investment in new pieces of equipment follows on the heels of several other capital equipment purchases (http://www.controltek.com/blog/post/2011/04/our-latest-addition-juki-fx-3-surface-mount-technology-system) made in the past year that demonstrate the EMS provider's commitment to stay up-to-date with the newest technology available in the electronics contract manufacturing industry.
